Heartland Caregivers began in Missoula, MT because the best nannies in the world have traditionally come from the Northwest. We now screen nanny applicants from throughout the U.S. and if they meet our standards, we will present their files for the consideration of those in need of in-home childcare.

We screen for experience, intelligence, loyalty, stability and a strong work ethic. Work history and references are checked by the Heartland staff. All Heartland Nannies are provided a detailed, in-depth Heartland Nanny Handbook at the time of interview.

We like to give families choices of applicants and we like to give our nanny applicants choices of positions as well. It is our philosophy that everyone should be happy with the match. Children will bond to their nanny and it is traumatic for them to have turnover. If parents appreciate, respect and pay their nanny by industry standard, longevity should be ensured.

We are a nanny advocate and for that reason, Heartland always has many nannies to choose from. Nannies who have the work ethic, truly love children and care about a child's emotional, intellectual and physical growth are who we like to represent! And to keep that caliber of nanny registered with Heartland, we must and will treat them with the great respect they deserve. Nannies like being represented by Heartland and the advantage to our clients is that there are always wonderful nannies ready and able to do the important work you require!

The first step in the process of finding the right nanny for your home is to call the Heartland office at (406) 542-0241. We will go over the needs of your position and fax or mail you our application. Once we receive your paperwork back, we will email or FedEx you files of all available applicants who meet your requirements. We urge you to call any and all applicants directly.

Since Heartland nanny applicants have the Heartland Nanny Handbook, they may be asking you questions about your children, your home and your needs. These questions are listed in our Heartland Handbook, which is available in PDF form.

Once an applicant and employer agree on working conditions, our fee is due--20% of the gross annual salary. We will replace free of charge for any reason anytime within the first 60 days. All nannies commit for at least one year and many stay far longer.

Temp Nannies: We always have at least a few nannies ready and willing to go anywhere for a temp position. Temps usually earn at least $400 per week in addition to travel expenses to and from the position.

Baby Nurses: These are very experienced nannies with excellent newborn skills. Some are registered nurses.  Baby nurses will be responsible for the care of your newborn 24 hours a day.  For that reason, their rate of pay is much higher than the regular live-in nanny. A baby nurse is essentially a temp who works 2 weeks to 6 months and earns at least $700 per week to compensate for the training and sleep deprivation!
